October

October was full of fun things!
The kids and I like to work puzzles and we decided that a Texas Tech puzzle was the perfect one for fall.
Grandma and Papa made the trip for Grand Day at school.
One chilly evening, we went to At'l Do Farms. They have a corn maze, a hay ride to pumpkin hollow, animals... it was lots of fun!
Of course, Blake and Easton have been going to the Texas Tech football games with us. We always have a blast there - win or lose!

They even got capes like the Masked Rider and got to meet him.

For Halloween this year, Blake wanted to be a black cat and Easton wanted to be Captain America. He didn't want the shield though, because he wanted his hands free.

Friday the 28th was the Fall Festival at school. It was round one for wearing their costumes and getting candy! They played every game, some more than once, and wore themselves out on the bouncy obstacle course.

Carving pumpkins went so much better this year! I usually end up carving the most, but this year the kids did most of the work!
 Slimy hands!
Easton wanted his jack-o-lantern to have a spooky mouth and ears.
Blake decided hers should have four eyes to be spooky.
I didn't take more pictures on Halloween, but we trick-or-treated until we dropped. We walked our neighborhood for a long time, until they both asked to go home. We tried to hand out candy at our house, but no one comes to our street because we're at the back edge of the neighborhood.

Fort Lauderdale

The second weekend of September, we took off to Fort Lauderdale for five days with my parents and Katie and her family. We were so looking forward to this trip, and we were so thankful the hurricane didn't ruin the trip. There was a little rain/cloudy weather, but it was mostly great! It had been 3 years since we'd been to a beach, and both Blake and Easton loved it!
One morning, Easton went with the boy cousins and Katie and Hector fishing, while Tim and my dad golfed. He was excited to go and had a great time. He caught a Parrot Fish!

We went to the Everglades one day for an air boat tour. Our guide was so fun. She called out alligators by name until they showed up! We saw iguanas, birds, and plants, and then watched The Gator Boys do an alligator show. Very cool!

Our guide made necklaces from flowers growing in the water.

It was so nice to get away, play in the water and sun for a few days, and relax! (We missed Travis and Emily though!) Blake even brought a coconut home that she found washing up on the beach in the waves.

The nice pilot let the kids pretend to fly the plane while we were waiting during a stop. Our flights home were delayed and extended, so we played hooky from school the next day. We were exhausted from all the fun!

T + E Wedding

The weekend before school started, Travis and Emily got married!
It was a beautiful wedding, and so fun! Blake was a beautiful flower girl and Easton was a handsome date for GG!

We even survived the heat and humidity! Ha!
The kids had a blast with their cousins.
We are so very happy for Travis and Emily!

First day of School

Once again, the summer flew by and it's time for school again.
Easton is in Kindergarten this year. Both kids have lots of their friends from last year in their new classes, but I was especially glad for Easton. It was really hard to leave him as he was crying and hugging me. Just like with Blake, my drive home was spent crying.
Blake is in 2nd grade this year. She is really turning into a big girl and handled back to school like a pro. I hope they have a great day and wonderful year.

Water & Deer & WCG

These pictures are from June at the lake house at Lake Cannonball. William Clark Green, who's is Easton's very favorite singer, was playing in Burnet at an outdoor concert. It was finally a venue where we could bring the kids to watch him perform! So we made a fun weekend out of it at the lake.
The water was so warm!

The kids fed the deer...

And ate plenty of marshmallows!

This kid was so happy to see William Clark Green. He was up front so he could really see what he looked like and sang along to all his favorite songs!

Summer pictures

I realized I had pictures on my phone I hadn't posted yet. So here are some of the things we've been doing!
We've been golfing as a family a few times this summer. Blake is a great ball spotter and helps me find where I hit my ball. Tim recently got them each a set of US Gold Kids clubs and they love playing with us. Both Blake and Easton can hit some pretty great shots, too!

We've been swimming almost every day this summer and taking swim lessons. Blake will now jump off the side in the deep end and swim back to the wall. It took a long time for her to get the nerve to jump in, but being with all her friends at a swimming birthday party recently did the trick.
Easton never really loved water and would just cling to me while swimming. After a rocky start with being nervous to go under water, he will now jump from the steps and swim under water to me and then back to the wall.
Blake and Easton love going to gymnastics class every week. This is from the end of year class where they received medals! Easton has been moved up an age class and Blake will be soon.
More to come...
