End of year

Kindergarten and preschool are over for this year. The year once again flew by and left me with kids that are much bigger and more grown up looking and acting!
It has been unusually cool lately and extremely rainy! (With areas of the state in a flood situation) Blake says "it's summer, but it doesn't feel like summer!"

Memorial Day Weekend

We went to Frisco over Memorial Day this year. We had a great time, and found fun things to do despite the rain- got to catch up with friends and their kids/babies and see family!
Saturday morning, we went to the Dallas Aquarium. The kids had a great time (we did too). We had been before, but it was around 3 years ago, so it was pretty much like the first time for them.

Sunday, there was also a Lego exhibit at the mall that had landmarks, like the White House, Capitol building, Liberty Bell, and other monuments, all made out of Legos. And then they had a play area for kids to build and race Lego creations.

Valentine's Day

Both kids had a blast on Valentine's Day. They both received cards and goodies from all their classmates, and Easton got to join in Blake's class party, too! A lot of Blake's classmates had even brought him Valentine cards! Chick Fil A, balloons, brownies, jello jigglers, crafts, games... fun!

January

Easton decided to eat his peanut buttered bananas as Raphael.

Blake was invited to a Disney princess themed birthday for a classmate. Each girl picked the princess costume she wanted to wear, and received a matching purse and nail polish as her party favor!
Blake picked to dress up as Princess Jasmine.

Princess Cinderella even stopped by! Blake was so excited, and in awe of her. She got to try on her crown...
and Princess Cinderella retold her story to the girls.
The moms put makeup on the girls at the beginning of the party. A friend snapped these of us, and I'm so glad. It was such a sweet moment!

In January, we also brought home our new nugget, Charlie! (The breeders called him Nugget, and I loved it) He's a morkie and he's adorable!

Charlie came home at 2 pounds and definitely needed his sweaters to stay warm in the snowy winter we had.

We attempted to make a snowman, but the snow wouldn't pack very well. Blake was still really pleased with the outcome. Easton decided he was too cold and only stayed out with us for a bit.

Grandma and Poppa came to town to visit, too. Poppa helped install a new 220 volt outlet so we could have a better heater at work! Grandma, Easton, and I surprised Blake at school for lunch. We brought her Chick Fil A and after we finished eating, we had time to read the book that came with the meal.

Christmas

Christmas was very eventful this year!
We went to visit Santa and this was our Christmas card picture for the year (because I was too lazy to have their picture taken again and didn't have anything else to use, but it's cute so it works!) I'm not sure how many more years we'll visit Santa... I guess for as long as they still want to.
I was so excited to go to Carol of Lights, and the kids had fun too! I hope we can make this an annual tradition for our family.
The kindergarteners did the Christmas program at school and were so cute! The songs had cute hand motions and was just so adorable. Blake ended up on the front row which made her a little nervous...

Easton had a Christmas program, too. They acted out the Nativity story and Easton was a wise man, along with two best buddies. So incredibly sweet! You could tell he was nervous too being in the spotlight, but I was proud of both kids for finishing the whole performance.

Blake's class had a "Frozen" themed Christmas party - Olaf, snow, and ice! It was fun and I love that her teacher and classmates always make Easton feel so welcome.

We went to Midland the weekend before Christmas to celebrate with my side of the family. Poppa had strongly wished for us all to be there for this specific date, so we were all curious what the surprise would be...
He reserved a carriage ride through the Grasslands neighborhood, and it was so fun! We were all bundled up and together, which would never have happened without such a large vehicle!

 All the cousins!
Aunt Katie bought the girls matching dresses and Blake loved it! She loves Sophia and loves having a little girl to play with like almost like a living doll. My favorite thing was when Blake was trying to comb Sophia's hair and Sophia kept moving and moving, trying to get away. Blake never stopped, she went wherever Sophia went and just kept combing!

Just playing before mass...

Back at home, waiting for Santa... the kids left out chocolate chip cookies, milk, and carrots for the reindeer!

Santa brought Blake a doll house and Easton a Ninja Turtle and Paw Patrol headquarters and a Stretchkin for each (unicorn for Blake, Ninja Turtle for Easton). They also got new scooters, art sets, Barbies, Nerf guns...

For round three, we celebrated with Tim's side the weekend after Christmas. A Christmas season full of family, love, joy, and happiness. Merry Christmas!
